Help/Leads

Your own guide or a free service

Offering a PDF or link you already have, or a free piece of your work, instead of a guide we write.

Your own guide

On Leads, choose Already have a guide? Use yours. Drop in a PDF up to 20 MB, or paste a link to one (a Google Doc, Dropbox or any public link). The link has to open for anyone with it, without signing in.

We read the first pages to suggest the title and what the form says, and you can change any of it. Your guide is never changed: readers get your PDF exactly as you made it, or the link.

For the picture beside the form, choose page 1 of your PDF or a cover in your colours. A cover is better when page 1 is mostly text, and it is the only choice for a link.

It costs no credits. On Core it takes your site's one lead magnet slot.

A free service

On Leads, choose Offer a free service instead. It suits readers who are close to hiring: a quote review, a quick check by phone, a look at their photos.

We suggest services from what you sell on Your business, and only from that. If nothing there fits, or you haven't added what you sell, write your own.

Set:

  • The headline, what they get and the button on the form.
  • Let them attach files: up to 3, PDFs or photos, 10 MB each, and what to ask them for.
  • Ask for a phone number: always optional for them.
  • You'll reply within: the same business day, 1 or 2 business days. We tell readers this, so pick a promise you'll keep.

The form shows your photo from Your business, or your initials until you add one. Requests go to the reply-to address on Your business, else your account email. See Your leads for what happens next.
